With three teenagers in the house, life feels about as chaotic as it did having a bunch of toddlers. Tillie recently celebrated her 12th birthday, and her goal was to get in shape with her Dad. While exercise isn’t her choice pastime, she’s enjoyed the bonding with her Dad.
She’s just not terribly good on her feet.

I thought it was time I got a job now that I’m fourteen, fifteen in four months. The only places in Millwood that hire fourteen year olds though is the pizza joint. I asked Dad to take me, and then he stood awkwardly at the entrance, acting like he was lost.
Thankfully Clayton ignored him, and he offered me a job! I can’t wait to have some of my own money to spend on craft supplies and seeing a movie with Elodie.
Once I started though, my confidence sunk. I couldn’t figure out the cash register, which was embarrassing on its own, but Ezra Gavigan saw me make a fool of myself, and he’s pretty cute!

It seems that their eldest daughters grew up and became independent in a blink. They aren’t begging to visit their Dad at the station, or play at the park with their Aunt Lily-Mae. Grace misses them as she packs up her two youngest and head to South Port.

With Hatty’s fourth birthday behind us, we finally feel that we are able to focus on our family and home as a whole. With toddlers, there are more basic needs like diaper changes, naps, and frequent snacking. Now all the girls can mostly fend for themselves, that me and Benjamin don’t feel entirely exhausted at the end of the day.

It’s been snowing like crazy, which leaves the girls feeling very pent up. Mostly it just means they are cranky, but in the case of Isla, it equals pestering behavior. If she isn’t jumping on the sofa, or antagonizing Ainsley, she is picking on Hatty.
