Etienne transitions into Fatherhood seamlessly, and now Noémie is a toddler, he’s hitting his stride.

In his career, there is no where for him to go, as his wife has the highest paid position in the county, and he never wants to move again. So he occupies his free-time with Noémie’s upbringing; she will be the smartest, most well-adjusted preschooler to ever step into Longfellow Elementary.

He bundles her up, because it might be too crisp for her. When she was an infant, Violet-Adele teased him of sweltering her with all the layers, so he is relieved she can now vocalize any discomfort or just tear layers off herself.

Two months until forty, more than two years worth of negative pregnancy tests. Her entire life seemed to have passed in a blur until she started trying for a baby. Each month was agonizingly long, each phone call was intrusive, and each menstruation was an utter disappointment.

January Birthdays – 2029

Violet-Adele’s 39th birthday rolls around and she doesn’t feel much like celebrating. The passing of her Father is still too new, and to add to injury, they are still not pregnant.

She had never been in a rush to have a baby, but with her fortieth birthday fast approaching, and the loss of her Dad, she feels an unfamiliar urgency. Etienne tries his best to lift her spirits, conveying a sense of peace that they will soon find themselves expecting.

There had been some resistance over a destination wedding sans kids. But once they arrived, and checked in, there wasn’t a complaint to be heard. She didn’t want to imply that she knew they’d come around to the notion, but she had. She also didn’t really care if any of them hadn’t.
