Bea had mostly taken her break-up with Jett like a trooper, as her Dad embarrassingly told her. Bea had known that him heading off to university before her might lead to their destruction. But she didn’t really believe that it would. He’d taken her to his Mom’s wedding, he actually seemed like marriage might even be on his mind, like family and her, that they were both important.

She joked with her brothers, and put on a brave face, but she felt shaken.

The kids are thrilled to be back in their own home, and away from the farm. The boys didn’t mind missing out on the wedding, but they all detested staying at their Uncle Finn’s farm for a week. He had told their parents he’d put them to work, but they’d thought it was just something adults said. How wrong they had been!

Back in 2018, Jude got let go from his recording studio, he did a stint being a birthday party entertainer, and then got a new record deal in 2019. He struggled if he should continue chasing his dream, or hang it up, and we are both glad that he kept working towards it.

This new studio has been fantastic to work with, he’s wanted to spend more time on the west coast, and they’ve hooked him up with concerts and festivals. He’s been feeling like the kids are growing too quickly, and with Bea starting junior high next fall, I agree with him. Neither of us can believe our Bea will be a tween soon.

I worked at Hazel’s diner for a short stint until I began to grate her nerves, and then it was clown business, where I dressed the part of a clown and entertained children. My sister, Vi has been staying with us while she worked on this building project for the North side of Lincoln Park. They tore down dilapidated buildings and hired her to give it a fresh new look. She was offered a full time position by Mayor Cole to work for the city’s architect team, in rebuilding parts of South Port. She didn’t accept immediately, but this past spring did make it official. She is now Architectural Partner to Boone County, and happened to purchase one of the homes she built.

We found out we are expecting our third, and likely, last baby. After Monroe was born, we immediately wanted to start trying again. The idea of having all the children close in age, sounded wonderful. We did hold off a little while though, and all of our children will be around 2 years apart in age, which is good for us.

I tell Monroe how he’s going to be a big brother, but the concept is lost on him.
