On a snowy Sunday afternoon, Otto‘s grandparents come over to celebrate his fourth birthday.
His big sister, Penelope is pretty excited her baby brother will be going to school with her in the fall.
She will miss bossing him around and carrying him around the house.
Otto isn’t as outgoing as Penelope, but he makes up for it with his activeness, just like his Mama.
Trish and Trent Lange celebrate their fortieth anniversary at home with their daughters. Trish goes out back to pick spring blossoms to display in the house while she waits for the girls to arrive.
Brooklyn and her family walk over, being neighbors to them. Instantly Colleen runs to Moose to strangle him with love.
Trent checks in with Brooklyn, she’s due with twins next month, and she’s over the entire pregnancy. Her ankles are swollen, she’s too big for some maternity clothes even.

Otto turned one earlier this month and life had gotten much easier. Sure, he got into mischief, but he could speak better, move if he was uncomfortable. If he wanted a banana, he could actually let her know.
However, he still kept wonky sleeping hours and would randomly wake the household with his screams.
Barbara Gray was turning 48; it wasn’t a milestone birthday by any means, but she still felt hurt that her children didn’t intend to do more than just text her a Happy Birthday before their morning classes.
She tried calling both of their cells, and neither answered. She was forced to resort to texting, something she rather detested. Her fingers were clumsy, and nowhere near as agile as her children’s fingers. A mid-morning pick-me-up at the Cafe near campus, that was all she wanted. It didn’t seem like a birthday worth celebrating if her own children were too occupied to even visit for a few minutes.
