Oliver McCarthy (33 years), Brooklyn (28 years), Colleen (1 year)
Brooklyn and Oliver were immensely busy with their teaching positions, and also Oliver’s masters in education. He would graduate in May if things went accordingly, and he really intended them to as he couldn’t imagine having to repeat a single semester; he was completely done with the higher education system. There just wasn’t time for all the things he wanted to do when he had to keep his head in the books.
Colleen was crawling around on a mission to befriend every single animal on the street. Mostly she stuck to Roux, but they were certain if a skunk wandered on the lot, she’d definitely try to hug it.
Colleen McCarthy celebrates her first birthday with her maternal grandparents and Aunt Paige. It isn’t that Oliver’s family isn’t excited for Colleen’s birthday, as much as she is the only grandchild and niece for the Lange family, and they are that much more excited.
Trisha took vacation time from the law office so she could bake and shop for the special event. It’s Brooklyn’s birthday as well, so she doesn’t feel like it’s over celebrating. In her opinion, October is the best month for celebrations and baking without all the pressure of the holidays.
It’s Oliver’s 33rd birthday and their 1 year anniversary. They decide to celebrate at home and get their garden in shape for the growing season. He tends to the trees while Brooklyn looks for baby bird nests.
That evening, he pours a glass of wine for each of them and they marvel about their first year of marriage. It wasn’t exactly what they’d expected, having a newborn for most of it, but they’re both happy with their lives.
Marshal and Lorelei Krouse celebrate their ninth anniversary. They can barely believe how much they’ve been through since their wedding day all those years ago. Their nine month old son, Otto is the biggest surprise to Lorelei, as she had thought one would be fulfilling enough, but she has no regrets.
