Corbin Gray is turning fifty this month, and he wants nothing more than to stay home. He’s been working a big personal-injury lawsuit, and he wants to unwind with his family, especially his granddaughter, Quinn.
He isn’t sure how much longer Quinn will be staying with them, as his daughter Riley has started being secretive again just like she was as a teenager. He doesn’t want to tell her that she’s an adult, free to live on her own, because he’s afraid she will do exactly that. But he is annoyed by her behavior nonetheless.
Newlyweds Paige and Trevor Bowen start getting settled into their new home. There is a nice garden space, and Paige hopes to get a harvest with quick vegetables before the first frost.
She enjoys the pear tree which has already had the summer for growth. There are more pears than they could possibly ever eat, which isn’t a problem with her family members all too happy to receive pears.
Chaz Holmes celebrates his fifteenth birthday with his secret girlfriend, Cicely. She arrives ahead of him, faster on her skates than his walking.
Next month is their one year anniversary, and they’ve never been on an actual date.
It’s Oliver’s 33rd birthday and their 1 year anniversary. They decide to celebrate at home and get their garden in shape for the growing season. He tends to the trees while Brooklyn looks for baby bird nests.
That evening, he pours a glass of wine for each of them and they marvel about their first year of marriage. It wasn’t exactly what they’d expected, having a newborn for most of it, but they’re both happy with their lives.
Ella Carver celebrates her eighteenth birthday with a trip to EU. She hasn’t decided yet if she will attend next fall, but she’s pretty positive she will be accepted. She takes her final SAT test this spring, and then she will need to make her decision.
Her sister, Marisol didn’t come to the tour. They’ve never been very close, and Cesar hasn’t been successful in his attempts to bring them together. Manny came though, he’s always been Ella’s cheerleader, and the most akin to her and their late Mom.
Both of the men in her life are really pumped at the idea of college for Ella.
(Krouse Household Profile)
Marshal Krouse (40 years), Lorelei (36 years), Penelope (4 years), Otto (1 year)
Otto turned one earlier this month and life had gotten much easier. Sure, he got into mischief, but he could speak better, move if he was uncomfortable. If he wanted a banana, he could actually let her know.
However, he still kept wonky sleeping hours and would randomly wake the household with his screams.
Etienne Bernard (42 years), Violet-Adele McCarthy (39 years),
Two months until forty, more than two years worth of negative pregnancy tests. Her entire life seemed to have passed in a blur until she started trying for a baby. Each month was agonizingly long, each phone call was intrusive, and each menstruation was an utter disappointment.
