Gideon has never stopped wanting another child, previously he worried Dahlia would be lonesome without a sibling, but she’s flourished. She looks up to her big sisters, and she never complains about being the youngest.
It’s summer break, and Dahlia is happy being with her friends or capturing butterflies, which she instantly releases.

Most of our days are routine, Gideon is working on a new research grant letter. His previous horticulture project at the university has completed, and he’s ready to tackle his next big questions. He loathes this part of the job the most. I can’t say I’m terribly fond myself, as he stays up late into the night, and I don’t like going to bed alone.
I usually spend my evenings with Dahlia. Even though she’s eleven, she still enjoys cuddling with her Mama, and I’m not complaining.

We celebrated our tenth anniversary this month; we went down to the small cafe in Millwood and kept it simple. It’s hard enough these days to get time at home together, let alone an evening out. As it happened, it was a Wednesday evening, and we had the place to ourselves.

Miner Hall was updated over the summer, now our second floor has a lounge area and finally we have some vending machines. Mom doesn’t approve of garbage food or the high prices, but sometimes a college student needs a late-night snack.
I’m also a fan of the new arcade games. The main floor has pinball, but I’ve never been a master pinball player. I feel that I at least get my coin worth when I play these newer games instead.

Elias switched dorms after Rachael broke up with him. His twin teased that he was being the weaker man, but Elias just didn’t care about any of that. He had only gone to EU because he had gotten a scholarship, and Rachael had insisted; it had felt nice to be wanted.
