The youngest child of three, and the last child at home, Roman has been feeling left behind by his older siblings. It hadn’t been a big deal when his sister Bea went to EU, but now Monroe is gone, and he took their mutual friends too. The band is broken up, and he is turning 17 next month, and he still hasn’t found a girlfriend. He’s made this the goal before school started up in a month.

He tried asking Molly Welsh out, because she isn’t traditionally attractive, he thought this was a certain win for him. He was wrong.

STUDENT ENROLLMENT

Everyone is struggling to maintain their drive and focus with the promise of summer freedom fragrancing the spring air. Romance also seems to be mingling in the air as well, which makes extra work for the teachers. Rosabella Steinman is covering for Brooklyn while she’s on maternity leave, and she’s rather soft since she just covered for Miriam in the fall, but she taught kindergartners which are less prone to making out.

Bekah knows far too much about the couples in her school, and she happened to see Chaz moving on after Cicely broke up with him this past winter.

Oddly, she saw Cicely smile, as if she were happy for Chaz and Lizzie with their new-found romance. It made Bekah respect the young girl more, seeing the maturity of wanting her ex to be happy.

Holden is finishing up his junior year, and soon Tim and I will be empty-nesters. Willa graduates this spring from EU, but she has zero intention of moving back home.

I finally feel like Lainey and Michael are doing well. She’s always been obstinate, refusing to embrace surprises which put Michael at a disadvantage romantically. When we were over recently to visit, I saw them embracing.

It’s Oliver’s 33rd birthday and their 1 year anniversary. They decide to celebrate at home and get their garden in shape for the growing season. He tends to the trees while Brooklyn looks for baby bird nests.

That evening, he pours a glass of wine for each of them and they marvel about their first year of marriage. It wasn’t exactly what they’d expected, having a newborn for most of it, but they’re both happy with their lives.
