Thanksgiving break is just a week away, and everyone is ready for the time away from school, even the teachers. The school day starts, and the Browning twins are in the throes of a hearty game of tag. Their big sister, Mavis just walks past, ignoring their shenanigans. She prefers the more quiet hobbies which require no sweat.

Irina has only been in school for a few months, but she’s already enamored with her preschool teacher, Mrs. Siew. She shares stories of her travels, although her parents haven’t had time to take her on a vacation yet. They are planning to the next summer, but it seems so real to Irina, she feels like she’s already gone.

With baby Lucia’s arrival, Ginny prepares for an early January Christmas. It’s untraditional to celebrate after the holiday, and Gemma was upset to delay the holiday, but Ginny had zero intention to lose her standing as the host for Christmas. Besides, she had the nicest house out of any Pacelli, with the most space.

Lucia and Bianca played on the floor, with Silvana spoiling them both equally. She was thrilled to have two granddaughters only four months apart, she was certain they’d be the best of friends. They would even be in the same classroom, so a built in friend when they started school.

This was the first year Mrs. Lucy would be teaching sixth graders, as the school district had recently voted to implement the change. She felt much too old to be dealing with these sorts of things, but she took it on the chin. Oliver would be graduating in the spring with his Masters in Education, and he was likely taking her place the upcoming year as principal.She would miss the students though, and walking the halls with their chattering and exciting stories.

It’s Oliver’s 33rd birthday and their 1 year anniversary. They decide to celebrate at home and get their garden in shape for the growing season. He tends to the trees while Brooklyn looks for baby bird nests.

That evening, he pours a glass of wine for each of them and they marvel about their first year of marriage. It wasn’t exactly what they’d expected, having a newborn for most of it, but they’re both happy with their lives.

Isaiah and Maeve Gavigan’s daughter, Margot turns one the day before they sign on their new house out in Millwood.

They are both eager to give Margot a sibling, and their two bedroom apartment didn’t fit their needs anymore. Maeve is saddened to leave Margot’s nursery behind for some new tenant to paint over. Isaiah has promised that the new house will make an even better nursery.
